Anyone heard of this one?
| Quote: | U.K. progressive metallers THRESHOLD have been confirmed for this year's Summer's End Festival, set to take place September 15-16 at The Robin 2 in Bilston, England. Also scheduled to appear are PAIN OF SALVATION and IT BITES.
For more information, visit www.summersend.co.uk.
THRESHOLD will embark on the "Live Reckoning Tour" (Part 1) in August/September with support from COMMUNIC, MACHINE MEN and SERENITY. THRESHOLD will also perform at a number of summer and fall festivals, including ProgPower USA and ProgPower Scandinavia.
THRESHOLD's new album, "Dead Reckoning", debuted at the following chart positions in Europe:
Germany: #64
Holland: #95
U.K.: #30 (independent chart)
U.K.: #37 (rock chart)
"Dead Reckoning" has received six "Album of the Month" awards across Europe and Canada. The album was released in the U.S. on April 24. |
Seems like an established festival, but doesn't sound big enough to support Threshold? _________________

Fer yer Prog news there is always
www.dprp.net/news *cough*
| Quote: | We are delighted to announce the latest updates from the Summers End Festival to be held on September 14 / 15 / 16th with the line up now all but complete!
We are thrilled to welcome superb British melodic prog-metal band THRESHOLD to the Robin stage, in the special guest slot on Sunday evening. Having recently moved to the Nuclear Blast label for their magnificent new album “Dead Reckoning”, they have begun a new phase in a long career that began in 1993, and has seen them develop a much-deserved following with both prog and metal fans worldwide. This appearance will mark the only UK date on the September leg of their “Dead Reckoning” tour
http://www.thresh.net
Magenta vocalist CHRISTINA BOOTH (with the help of a few friends) will make her debut solo appearance at the Robin in the Sunday acoustic slot, showcasing material from her forthcoming solo album, and just possibly a few songs with which Magenta fans will be more familiar!

Unfortunately, due to a clash with a Pendragon appearance, Clive Nolan’s CAAMORA will no longer be able to play the acoustic slot on Saturday night. We are in the process of finding a suitable replacement, to be announced in a few days. We hope Caamora will be with us in 2008!
We are also delighted to announce full details of our PRE SHOW PARTY at the Little Civic, North Street, Wolverhampton on Friday 14th September.
GALAHAD, the hard-edged prog veterans, will headline, showcasing songs from their much-anticipated new album “Empires Never Last”, while support comes from ever-popular (and always hard to categorize) British band JUMP, well known for their exciting live performances.
Tickets for all three days are available from www.sonicbond.com . Tickets for the pre-show event are also available from www.wolvescivic.co.uk and for the main event from www.therobin.co.uk

Its run by a few old blokes the South West who used to play in a Genesis cover band. Must admit that I was shocked when they announced PoS as that buggered up some of my plans |

^^That's considered to be a pretty strong line-up in prog circles, Dan...I think you should get your tickets sooner rather than later, as they are restricted to 300 at Lydney Town Hall... _________________ www.myspace.com/fandangoinprogression

Unless the SE drummer breaks a toe or something. Not that I'm disappointed or bitter in any way. |

I believe so for the time being.
They haven't announced any permanent plans (i.e. with respects to their next album), but I believe he has comitted to sing with them all this year. _________________

Brilliant. That's an extra incentive for me to look into this one then! |

I think your being a bit unfair. The drummer hardly did it on purpose. _________________

Ah, so is that what happened to the Glasgow gig? I've got to agree with Wabe about it all though.
The Friday line-up is looking good so far. I doubt that it would be worth the trip to Gloucestershire for me though. _________________
