I have never been at a gig which finished at 9:15pm before. Mental. Missed half of Pain because they came on at 6:30, the sound where we stood was awful too, they hadn't switched the PA on under the overhang of the balcony on that side so the sound was crap. Was alright when we moved further round though.

Really enjoyed Nightwish, prefered the new version of Dark Chest of Wonders, and my only gripe really was that Slaying the Dreamer REALLY didn't work with the new vocal style. Not one bit. And she clearly struggled on the last chorus of Nemo and there was an obvious "fuck this octave" moment when she gave up and went lower, which sounded fine anyway.

Glad the feedback has been relatively positive. It's nice to see I wasn't the only one who noticed the band slightly more envigourated anyways Smile

Yep they looked really enthusiastic, and like they were having a good time, unlike when I saw Sonata Arctica last - they all looked bored to death Razz

Just back from Nightwish at the Glasgow Academy. Very, very impressed with Anette performing on the old songs, and the random old song at slot 7 was Dead To The World:- jaw droppingly awesome.

Pain were also amazingly good, but I don't think I could have undergone a full 90 minute set. My neck would hurt too much. Shocked

I'll get some photos up later in the week.

and, as a final point, this is my quincentennial post. Very Happy

th Pain and Nightwish last night, although it was Nightwish I was there to see so they've made more of an impact. Tremendous performance and I can't wait for BOA to see them again.

yep, that was pretty good, that was.

Setlist:
Intro
Bye Bye Beautiful
Dark Chest Of Wonders
Whoever Brings The Night
The Siren
Amaranth
The Islander
The Poet An The Pendulum
Dead to The World
Last Of The Wilds
Sahara
Nemo
-------
7 Days to The Wolves
Wishmaster
Wish I Had An Angel

For a girl that was throwing up with a bad stomach just a couple of hours before the gig, this was an amazing performance from Anette. She nailed Dark chest just fine, and Dead to The World was jaw droppingly awesome.
The only bit I didn't like was the start to Wishmaster, where they had a taped intro, that was a bit dull.

The band, as has been said elsewhere, looked as though they were having a great time on stage, and Anette works the crowd well. She's settled right in.

Tarja who?

Pain were also amazingly good, and I will be back to see them when they tour the UK.

Piccys.

Who's a cheeky girl, then?

This is Pain and the Mysterons Shocked

I don't normally do the fanboi stuff, but when the opportunity is there . .

Someone I know with Peter from pain
