OK, I shall get there in time, and reserve judgement until then...can't say I was particularly impressed with any of their MySpace tracks, mind...

To be honest if you don't like Industrial Pop/Metal then you probably will hate it Smile

^^from my signature, you can the sorts of things I naturally gravitate towards, so I think you're probably right... Laughing

(that said, I will just say that Operation Mindcrime II is truly awful...it just should never have been written... Rolling Eyes )

I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by Pain and Psalms of Extinction. I checked out their website and then bought the album, just before I got Rich's cd with Nailed to The Ground on it.

I'm really looking forward to this gig now.

Kerrang recently reviewed that album and gave it 1 K out of 5.

Shows their depth of knowledge really Confused

26th March in London for me.

Though I don't really want to go. I'd finally got someone to buy my ticket for the 25th (as I've really lost any liking I had for Nightwish) and my friend got me one for the 26th as a birthday present.

Aye, but they also thought that Karmacode and The Open Door were good. Which says it all, really.

I think that's pants personally....I think there are really very few albums which deserve to be panned with a 1 star rating; how soul destroying it must be for a band to have spent between 6 months and a year in the creative process, to get that sort of treatment?... Crying or Very sad

Personally, if an album is within a genre of metal I don't enjoy, I don't 'rate' the album...I'll leave it for others...

and I'm quite convinced that on the 8th day, after he'd rested, God pottered around the shed collecting up all the discarded odds and ends, with which he created the music critic.... Wink

Indeed, like you say very few albums deserve a 1 star battering. Aside from say the last Limp Bizkit album, nothing is ever THAT bad. Laughing

I'm home in Kent for holidays at the moment, so it's only an hour for me on the train actually \o/

Ehhh, I feel grateful for my friend for thinking of me and all, but I've grown up a bit since 2005 when I last saw them. *shrugs*

^^^grown up Shocked ?? I'm 39, and I'm still off to see them..

although I'm not quite so enamoured with DPP as some people are...

...as a matter of interest, when you 'grow out of' Nightwish, what exactly do you grow into?? Wink

Can't get back to London to see the show on the 27th, so my ticket will be going to waste Sad I'll try and catch them elsewhere sometime this year.

They must have not paid enough advertising fees to get a second K.

To me, Nightwish were the early months of 2005. I keep seeing reviews about how "cute" Anette is and it makes me cringe. I just think I've grown out of it, really. No idea what I've grown into though.
